About Amilia

I am a university student at the University of Alberta completing an honors degree in Classics and Archaeology. In terms of teaching though, I have been a teacher for 6 years, and I have loved every moment of it. During this time, I have had the opportunity to work with people of all levels and ages. I think the part that I have always enjoyed the most was passing on knowledge that I personally find fascinating--and history is precisely that. In terms of archaeological experience, I have also participated in archaeological research, and am the current editor for an academic journal. As such, discussing important international topics such as world history is something I do on a daily basis, and I am thrilled to extend that to any students interested in doing the same.

About the lesson

Hi there! In my classes, I am most interested in teaching you how history connects with the present. While I am specialized in Mediterranean history, I am also very well-versed in world history and can work with students on international topics. As a musician, I can also discuss music history, and the connections between the artistic and modern worlds. I am incredibly passionate about history, and would love the opportunity to share this with you! Classes are available for students in elementary, junior high school, and senior high school. Advanced classes are available for university-level students looking for help in Mediterranean history and the study of Mediterranean archaeology.
