About Wendy
Hi! I’m a violin tutor with over 6 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance, specializing in Contemporary Repertoire. My training is rooted in classical tradition, but I’m passionate about helping students express themselves through modern and cinematic styles as well. I work with students preparing for orchestral excerpts, ensemble auditions, or simply wanting to improve their technical and musical fluency. In our lessons, we focus on bowing technique, phrasing, vibrato control, and stylistic interpretation. Whether you’re tackling Mozart or exploring a film score, I guide you through the unique demands of each genre. My approach balances precision with creativity, helping you sound polished yet personal. I also support students working toward ABRSM and Trinity exams, providing detailed practice strategies and performance coaching. Ensemble playing is a big part of my background—I’ve coached sectionals and love helping students grow in group dynamics and listening. You’ll learn how to blend with others while still expressing your individual voice. With a mix of discipline and exploration, we’ll bring your playing to the next level. Let’s build your technical foundation and explore modern expression—together, within the power of ensemble music.

In my lessons, violin technique and music theory go hand in hand. We learn scales and arpeggios while discussing how they shape the music you play. We study chords and intervals, and then find them right on the fingerboard. This approach makes theory useful and memorable.
I support choir members and musical theatre performers who want to feel more confident reading, understanding, and interpreting music. We look at the structure behind the sound—how harmonic shifts influence expression and bowing choices. This helps students play with more intention and clarity.
Each lesson includes practical exercises that relate directly to your music. I help exam-focused students break down what they need, piece by piece. My goal is always to connect the dots—making theory, technique, and performance work together.
The more you understand, the more expressive and skilled you become.
