As a teacher I have held a studio since 2012, and have studied the methodologies of Kato Havas, Paul Roland, and Mimi Zweig. I am also an accredited teacher in the Suzuki method, and have trained with Paule Barselou, and Dr. Katie Schlaikjer. I have completed violin and theory exams in the RCM method and I am able and willing to prepare students for these accreditations.
My teaching methods are primarily through experiential learning. I believe that hands on experience allows the most efficient method for learning. Im a typical class, I would go through a specific topic with a student only to have them build on it through craft and observation. Because of this form of experiential learning, nay methodology is primarily suited for students between the age of 4-8.
I offer classical and fiddle lessons. I use a variety of books. I like teaching from the Royal Conservatory Method. I teach beginner to intermediate students. I like to include theory, sight reading, technique and ear training into lessons as well.
