About Beth

Hello! My name is Beth, I am currently based in Montreal after moving from Scotland. I have played violin for over 15 years with the guidance of fantastic teachers such as Callum Smart and Nelson Lee. I have experience playing and teaching viola too! I graduated from McGill University with a Master’s degree in violin performance, and previously studied at the Royal Northern College of Music where I obtained a Bachelor’s degree with First Class honours. I have performed with various orchestras, including Orchestre Classique de Montreal, in many chamber music settings as well as performing solo recitals.
I am classically trained, although I do also enjoy traditional/folk music and pop music too!

About the lesson

I am a friendly face who is enthusiastic about teaching music to students of any level and any age! I believe in tailoring my lessons to the goals and desires of each student - with an overall aim of bringing you to the best level of musicianship possible, whilst simultaneously enjoying the process. Whether you just want to try a new hobby, or are serious about making a career in music, I am ready and happy to help! I am able to teach both the technicalities of the instruments as well as overall musicianship (including music theory and ear training) to boost your knowledge and reach your full potential!
Sharing a love for music is a wonderful experience, and I look forward to being a part of your journey :)
