About Lena
I hold a Master’s degree in Music with a concentration in piano pedagogy and have taught for over nine years in both private and academic settings. My experience includes preparing students for exams, concerts, and competitions, as well as helping hobbyists enjoy the instrument at their own pace. My teaching is centered around building confident, well-rounded pianists. I create a lesson plan unique to each student’s level and goals, incorporating structured progression with plenty of encouragement and flexibility. I believe every student learns differently, so I make adjustments that fit your musical interests and learning style. Beyond the classroom, I perform regularly and engage in collaborative projects with other musicians, which helps me stay creatively active and up-to-date with modern techniques. I aim to share not just technical skills, but a lifelong appreciation for music and the piano’s expressive power.

Beginner piano students start with foundational concepts like posture, hand position, note reading, and rhythm exercises. We’ll work through simple melodies, basic scales, and beginner pieces that develop finger strength, listening skills, and early musical awareness. Each lesson introduces new material in a steady, supportive way.
Intermediate lessons build on core skills and introduce more complex techniques, including dynamics, articulation, chord patterns, and expressive phrasing. Repertoire is selected to challenge and inspire—ranging from classical to contemporary—while also integrating theory and sight-reading to deepen musical understanding and interpretation.
Advanced students receive individualized instruction focusing on performance technique, emotional nuance, and stylistic variety. Lessons explore advanced repertoire, improvisation, and composition if desired. Students are encouraged to explore their own musical voice while mastering the discipline and polish required for public performance or exams.
