About Zayna
I am currently a sophomore in high school and have recently completed Grade 11 Functions. I have been ahead in math since eighth grade and have recently been taught to understand math concepts and rules rather than memorize them. If I had been taught these when I was younger, it could have helped me so much in these harder high school math courses. I cannot stress this enough, but the fundamentals of algebra, integers, trigonometry, and exponents that you learn in middle school do translate to all your future subjects in math, and are in my opinion the most important to focus in!

Being a student myself, I hope to connect on a more personal level and tackle struggles that my student may face using my own experiences. A typical lesson would go over the specific subject in math, trying to help the student understand why something is done in math the way it is rather than have them memorize rules without any further context. I would also provide the student with practice sheets which we will go over together and go over any and all questions they may have by creating a safe environment for them to ask questions. These lessons are targeted at any elementary or middle school students since I have completed these courses.
