About Ivy

My teaching approach centers on creating a warm, supportive studio where self-belief and joy flourish. I believe every student thrives when celebrated for “small wins,” so I use fun practice games to build confidence step by step. Kindness-based feedback helps students feel encouraged and motivated without pressure. Music is meant to be playful, so I incorporate musical play to spark creativity and keep lessons lively. I focus on core skills like basic bow paths, melodic shaping, and rhythm games to build a strong foundation. At the same time, I’m attentive to each student’s emotional state with gentle check-ins, ensuring they feel safe and inspired throughout their journey. Some learners need extra patience, so I guide them with steady encouragement and clear, achievable goals. Others flourish when given creative permission to explore and express themselves freely. Whether a student seeks inspiration or precise targets, I adapt lessons to meet their unique needs. My goal is to help students not just learn, but also love making music. Together, we create a space where progress and joy grow hand in hand.

About the lesson

I’m a violin tutor with over four years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Orchestral Studies, specializing in violin. My passion is helping adult beginners and returners rediscover the joy of music in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. I understand that picking up the violin as an adult can feel challenging, so I focus on making lessons enjoyable and stress-free.

My teaching style blends solid classical technique with folk tunes and simple pop arrangements. This mix keeps learning fresh and fun while building a strong musical foundation. I believe that music should be a source of happiness and personal expression, not just practice and perfection.

Whether you’re starting fresh or coming back after years away, I tailor lessons to fit your pace and goals. I’m committed to creating a supportive space where curiosity and creativity flourish.
