About Evelyn

With over 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Classical Voice, I’m passionate about helping students unlock their true musical potential. I believe music is transformative—it shapes confidence, sharpens focus, and opens doors to self-expression. My teaching combines strong foundations in ear training, harmony, and melody with creativity and exploration. I offer lessons in a wide range of styles including classical, pop, jazz, blues, and movie singing. Whether you're working toward vocal mastery, music theory fluency, or improving sight singing and performance techniques, I tailor each session to your goals. I’ve worked with school students, college learners, and aspiring professionals from all walks of life. Beyond voice training, I bring deep knowledge in improvisation, composition, music history, and music technology to every lesson. I love seeing students grow as musicians and individuals through hands-on learning and dynamic musical experiences. About the lesson

For *The Soloist in Training*, the focus is on refining control and expressiveness. Pitch perfection is developed through targeted vocal exercises, scales, and real-time feedback using pitch-detection software. Students regularly record themselves to hear subtle shifts in tone and pitch accuracy, building self-awareness. Expressiveness is nurtured by exploring song interpretation across genres like musical theatre, jazz, and pop ballads. This variety challenges emotional range and adaptability while reinforcing vocal techniques.

*The Adult Beginner* benefits from a gentle, encouraging approach. Confidence-building starts with familiar songs and simple melodies, using ear training apps to strengthen pitch recognition. As trust in their voice grows, lessons introduce genre exploration—soul, folk, and even rock—to find their unique sound. Breath control and phrasing are introduced gradually, always tied to musical feel rather than rigid drills.

For both personas, musicality is central. Learning dynamics, tone color, and rhythmic nuance makes each phrase come alive. Recording tools and pitch correction software serve not as crutches but as reflective tools to track progress. Weekly playback comparisons show improvement, making growth visible and motivating. The ultimate goal: a confident, expressive voice that’s both technically solid and artistically free.
