About Ali

Just like you, I am a player and student of the game, and am attaining my Tennis Professionals Association (TPA) Instructor certification for a career in teaching tennis. In my lifelong journey as a competitive recreational athlete that currently plays in social tennis groups and ladders over the last 10+ years, I have developed a passion for teaching and coaching across all ages along the way. Outside of tennis, my passion for teaching and coaching in areas such as primary school English and Math, elementary level academic skills across the neurodivergent spectrum, and coaching basketball, has helped me to become the patient and adaptable teacher I am today. I pride myself in learning with, for and about you to help you achieve your goals, while fostering the fun and love for the game every session.

About the lesson

-Adults all ages: Beginners to intermediate (New-3.5 NTRP)
-Kids 6-12: Focus on fun and enjoyment through games to teach basics and enhance developing skills
-Hitting/practice partner ($40/hour)

Focusing on personalized, 1-2 goals/session through simplified instruction within fun practice drills and games, prioritizing play with attention to detail towards developing your love of tennis and your game.

Lessons come with written re-caps. I offer accessibility in locations across the Downtown Vancouver and extended area, and as far as Burnaby with access to my own car

I like the fact that Ali allows your individual freedom of hitting style at the same time allowing you to implement the key techniques. Ali is also very personable and we connected very quickly. It's been fun working with Sarah! She is friendly and brings great energy to our sessions, and appreciate her communication both on and off the court-whether that's coordinating our lessons, and being proactive when needing clarification or understanding of what we're working on. This has helped me personally to improve as an instructor, and her willingness to collaborate and be open to what works and voicing what isn't in a respectful way, will go a long way both for herself and anyone who works with her!

Details

Much appreciated for payments at least 24 hours in advance to confirm your lesson time and slot. All students will be messaged to confirm scheduled lesson times with payment prior.
Payable via Superprof, E-Transfer, or cash. I am flexible as long as we can communicate!

Inclement Weather and cancellation policy:

-Unfortunately, no refunds in the event of inclement weather or if you need to make a cancellation without 24 hours notice (life happens, I get it!)
But every effort will be made to ensure lessons will be re-scheduled, or time lost will be tracked and added to future lessons when possible

Thank you for your understanding in supporting a sole proprietor for their time working a largely seasonal business :)
