About Ava
I am a dedicated violin tutor with 10 years of experience, having successfully taught around 300 students of all levels. My teaching approach is centered on personalized learning, tailoring each lesson to fit the student’s individual pace, goals, and style. I focus on building strong technique, musicality, and confidence while keeping lessons engaging and motivating. I also incorporate unique skills such as improvisation, music theory, and performance tips to help students become well-rounded musicians. My goal is to inspire a lasting passion for the violin and guide each student on their unique musical journey.

My teaching strategy for violin is built on accountability, creativity, problem-solving, and integrity. I believe in helping students grow through consistent practice, clear goals, and honest feedback. Each lesson is tailored to the student’s level and learning style, whether you're a beginner or advancing toward a professional level. I guide students step by step, focusing on technique, tone, posture, and musical expression.
I encourage creativity by including improvisation and music interpretation, helping students connect emotionally with their instrument. When challenges arise, I use problem-solving techniques to break down complex pieces or techniques into manageable parts. This builds confidence and helps students overcome obstacles with ease.
Along with violin, I also teach related instruments such as viola, cello, and erhu, as well as music theory, sight-reading, and performance preparation. My goal is to not only teach how to play but to inspire a lifelong passion for music. I create a supportive and motivating space where students feel seen, heard, and encouraged.
