About Nicolas

Hello future student, my name is Nicolas, and I was previously an engineering student at the University of Calgary but found enjoyment in other areas of focus like music. As such, I have since left engineering and am currently enrolled in business to develop skills needed to help share my passion around music. Growing up with piano persuaded me to transition to music as I have been studying it for over 12 years. I have reached an RCM level of Grade 10 so whichever level I teach, I have personally gone through and understand the important concepts of each level. With the enjoyment I personally found with piano, I am passionate to share this wonder that I have been immersed in. I am looking to help ambitious students to develop and harness their inner talents. I love to see students grow and begin to believe more in themselves as they learn more about music. My love for seeing these results occur helps fuel my patience to teach students regardless of their present skills and knowledge. I am open to having a conversation with you to see whether we are a fit to go forward as a teacher and student.

About the lesson

We will be focused on building the fundamentals of music through the development of transferrable skills in piano. This will include reading and playing musical notes and sheets to help the student gain familiarity around the world of music.

I teach students of preliminary levels up to RCM Grade 5 and can match students looking for higher grades to teachers just as great.

The classes will run between 30 minutes to an hour, which will be determined on the grade level of the student. Lessons will be tailored around playing as well as assisting the student in building an inner connection around music.
