  • Can you tell us about your first experience using a computer?

My first experience with a computer was a revelation. I remember it vividly sitting in front of a bulky desktop, the whir of the hard drive, and the excitement of seeing the "American Megatrends" boot up. I loved exploring all the basic programmes and games. It was a mix of curiosity and awe, as I realised the potential of these machines to create, learn, and connect. It led me to break our first computer 😅 but then I also learn how to fix it.
  • What is the technological evolution that has marked you most and what will be, in your eyes, a turning point in this field?

The evolution of the internet has been the most significant for me. I believe a future turning point will be the widespread adoption of AI and machine learning, as these technologies will fundamentally change how we interact with computers, making them more intuitive and capable of understanding human needs.
  • Explain your expertise, your interest in it and, more broadly, its importance in the computer world.

My expertise lies in software development and data analysis. This field is crucial in today's world as it drives innovation across industries. By developing efficient algorithms and understanding data patterns, we can improve decision-making and create solutions that enhance productivity and user experience.
  • Do so-called 'visionaries', such as Bill Gates, Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg inspire you or do you have other role models?

Visionaries like Bill Gates and Steve Jobs have certainly shaped the tech landscape but I draw inspiration from lesser-known figures in open-source communities and educators who prioritise accessibility and ethical tech. Their commitment to making technology inclusive resonates deeply with my values.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

In secondary school, I participated in a coding competition. Initially overwhelmed, I collaborated with classmates and turned our challenges into a learning experience. We ended up winning second place, but more importantly, I discovered the power of teamwork and the joy of problem-solving - lessons that still guide me today.
  • What would you say to an uncomfortable person in front of a screen who says that "IT is too complicated"?

I would tell them that feeling overwhelmed is completely normal, and it's okay to start small. Everyone learns at their own pace. I recommend breaking things down into manageable parts (decomposition) and focusing on practical applications. There are countless resources and communities ready to help, where most people have gone through a similar journey, including myself. :)
  • What are your other passions, related or non-related to computers?

Outside of computers, I'm passionate about travelling and seeing new countries. Exploring different cultures and landscapes allows me to find inspiration from all the places I visit and broadens my outlook and perspective on life. Hiking offers a refreshing escape into nature, where I can recharge and get away from the screens for a bit.
  • What makes you a Superprof in IT?

My blend of technical expertise, teaching experience, and passion for helping others makes me a Superprof in IT. I prioritise understanding my students' unique learning styles and strive to make complex topics accessible and engaging. My goal is not just to teach, but to empower students to become confident problem-solvers in the tech world.
