About Kira

Hi! I’m a violin tutor with over 2 years of experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music with an emphasis in violin performance. My training includes extensive work in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. I bring that versatility into each lesson to help students grow as well-rounded musicians. I specialize in working with high school and conservatory students who are serious about improving their technique and musical interpretation. My lessons focus on building stage presence, mastering advanced repertoire, and preparing for auditions or competitions. I guide students through every step — from choosing the right piece to performing it with confidence and character. Together, we work on tone, bow control, vibrato, and musical phrasing to unlock the full voice of the instrument. I also help students develop the mental strength to perform under pressure. My approach is detailed, supportive, and always tailored to each student's unique path. It’s a joy to watch my students take the stage with confidence and clarity. Let’s aim high and bring your violin playing to its next level.

About the lesson

My teaching method combines strong technique with a love for musical expression. I place a big focus on bow control, intonation, tone quality, and healthy posture from the start. These are the building blocks that allow students to feel comfortable and sound beautiful.

I often work with students who love music deeply but may not have had much solo experience yet. Whether you're used to playing in a group or just for yourself, I help you find your voice on the violin. We take time to shape your sound and bring more color to your playing.

Each lesson includes a mix of scales, exercises, and repertoire tailored to your needs. I show students how to listen for better pitch, improve bow balance, and develop smooth phrasing. I also include simple strategies for relaxing your body and avoiding tension.

The goal is not just to play the notes, but to feel confident and expressive while doing it. Together, we turn practice into progress — and progress into joy.
