About Ava
Learning the flute later in life is a beautiful act of courage and self-expression. I’ve had the privilege of guiding many adult learners—retirees, professionals, parents, and caregivers—through their personal journeys with music. My lessons are structured around gentle, steady growth. We’ll start with proper posture and relaxed breathing, helping you develop a sound that’s both full and comfortable. I believe in meeting you exactly where you are, without judgment or pressure. We’ll focus on short, manageable goals that build technique and musicality one layer at a time. And if you’ve never read music before, don’t worry—I’ll walk you through it step by step using visual aids and ear-based learning when needed. My teaching also includes creative exploration: improvisation, expressive playing, and even journaling about your experience with music. The flute is not just an instrument—it’s a way to reconnect with yourself, to celebrate the quiet moments, and to awaken something within. With me, you’ll gain more than just musical skills—you’ll gain confidence, patience, and a deep appreciation for your own progress.
