About Sofia
For the past 8 years, I’ve had the privilege of tutoring 150–200 ESL students from diverse backgrounds, and every learner has taught me something new. My teaching is grounded in adaptability, supportiveness, and a deep understanding of individual learning styles. I create custom lesson plans that not only address students' immediate language goals but also set them up for long-term fluency. Whether students need help with pronunciation, grammar, vocabulary, or real-life conversation, I offer tools and strategies that make English approachable and engaging. My unique skill lies in using real-life scenarios and role-playing to practice practical communication, helping students feel more confident and prepared in everyday situations. I also provide ongoing progress tracking and encourage self-reflection in learning. I believe that learning English should be exciting and stress-free. My teaching method is based on motivation, helping students believe in themselves and their ability to speak English. I focus on building strong communication skills by creating lessons where students get to talk, listen, and understand real conversations. I use creative ideas like simple role-playing, drawing, music, and stories to make the lessons fun and easy to remember.
Each class is well-organized and follows a clear plan, with time set aside for learning, practicing, and reviewing. I carefully manage our time so that every minute is used for learning something useful. I know each student learns differently, so I change my teaching style to fit what works best for them. I also give small tasks or homework that help students remember what they’ve learned. I help students prepare for school, travel, or work situations. Besides ESL, I also teach reading, writing, and basic grammar. My goal is to help students become confident and comfortable using English in their daily lives.
