About Derek
With 13 years of experience in violin instruction, I specialize in classical technique, baroque style, and modern improvisation. My teaching approach is designed to accommodate students of all ages, tailoring each lesson to their individual needs and goals. Whether you're a young beginner or an adult learner, I aim to make each session engaging and productive, helping you build a solid foundation and develop your unique musical voice.
Outside of teaching, I am deeply passionate about exploring various musical styles and continuously improving my own skills. I often engage in performance opportunities and collaborate with other musicians to stay connected with the latest trends and techniques in violin playing. This ongoing involvement in the music community enriches my teaching and allows me to offer students fresh and relevant insights.
In addition to my musical pursuits, I enjoy hiking, reading, and practicing photography.
