About Ivy
With a Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory (Guitar Specialization) and 3 years of teaching experience, I guide students toward complete musicianship. My lessons cover both performance and production. You’ll learn music production fundamentals, audio engineering essentials, and recording methods every guitarist should know. Tone shaping and effects pedals become powerful tools for expression. Mixing and microphone placement complete the picture, giving you confidence in any setting. My students range from early intermediates to expert session players, and I tailor lessons to fit each level. Together, we focus on building skills that matter in both practice rooms and studios. My teaching is structured but always creative. I believe musicians should not only play but also capture their artistry with precision. My teaching approach bridges the gap between practice and live performance. Guitarists need more than technique—they need real-world experience. I teach ensemble skills, band dynamics, and how to communicate musically in a group. Live etiquette and professionalism are always part of the training. Students also develop stage presence, learning how to project confidence. Fingerstyle players receive support in adapting their intricate styles to bands. For late bloomers, I offer structured encouragement to thrive in group settings. Lessons are interactive and often include live-style exercises. You’ll practice timing, coordination, and adaptability. I create an environment where mistakes are part of growth. My aim is to prepare you to walk on stage without hesitation. With my guidance, you’ll be ready to perform with ease and share your music fully.
