About Zoe
With over 3 years of guitar teaching experience and a BS in Audio Engineering (Guitar Focus), lessons focus on jazz and blues improvisation. Students at school, hobbyist, or professional levels are guided in practical and expressive learning. Modal scales, arpeggios, and dominant seventh theory provide the foundation for musical fluency. Bebop phrasing and stylistic nuances help develop a unique improvisational voice. Intermediate and Advanced students, including those preparing for professional gigs, benefit from targeted guidance. My teaching style is supportive, engaging, and goal-oriented. Students translate theoretical concepts directly into improvisation and performance. Lessons combine technique, theory, and creative exploration. Confidence and individuality grow alongside musical skill. Each session is tailored to the learner’s goals. Music is approached as both a technical skill and expressive art. Every student’s voice is encouraged and nurtured. Together, we begin a journey of spontaneous, inspired musical expression.

Lessons are designed to combine practical guitar skills with expressive performance. Students learn string replacement, tuning, and basic setup techniques. Understanding electronics and effects pedals is incorporated for tone shaping. The Campfire Strummer gains confidence managing gear in casual settings. The Worship Leader practises maintaining reliable sound for live services. Lessons balance hands-on exercises, troubleshooting, and creative exploration. Students adjust intonation, action, and truss rods for optimal playability. Pedal chains and pickup selection are explored to enhance tone. Independence and confidence in instrument care are emphasised. Tone shaping exercises encourage personal musical expression. Lessons are interactive, structured, and goal-oriented. Students leave prepared to maintain and optimise their guitar. Mastery of gear supports confident and expressive playing.
