I’m a guitar tutor with a Bachelor of Music in Popular Music, specializing in guitar, and I bring 6 years of teaching and performing experience to my lessons. My background blends academic training with hands-on experience across a wide range of genres, including rock, classical, folk, and blues. My guitar teaching approach focuses on building a strong foundation with ergonomic technique to ensure comfortable and injury-free playing. I emphasize mastering open chords and power chords as essential building blocks for versatile playing. Finger dexterity exercises are an important part of my lessons, helping students gain precision and speed.
I also incorporate ear training to develop musical listening skills, which are vital for improvisation and playing by ear. Understanding music theory is a key component, and I teach Roman Numeral Chord Nomenclature to help students analyze and navigate chord progressions easily. This knowledge supports both creative playing and confident performance.
