About Sloane
I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Historical Performance (Baroque Violin) and have been teaching for over 7 years. My specialty is working with young children and giving them a fun, musical start. I focus on ear training and aural skills because they form the foundation of musicianship. I design lessons that are playful, engaging, and imaginative. Storytelling is one of my favorite teaching tools. It helps children connect music to characters and ideas. I also use rhythm games and movement to make lessons lively. Singing and clapping prepare students for the melodies they will play. Simple tunes allow them to grow their technique step by step. My teaching draws on Suzuki and Kodály methods, which value listening and natural learning. Every child is supported with patience and encouragement. I believe in celebrating small steps forward. Over time, students develop both skill and confidence. For me, violin learning is a joyful journey. Each lesson is filled with fun, imagination, and music.

My teaching focuses on building strong sight-reading skills. I emphasize the ability to quickly understand ledger lines, complex rhythms, and multi-part scores. Lessons are designed to train the eye and fingers to work together. Exercises are systematic and progress step by step. Real pieces are included so students apply skills immediately. I aim to make the page feel less intimidating and more inviting. Musical Theatre Enthusiasts gain the ability to read quickly in fast-paced settings. Worship Singers also build confidence in handling hymnals and songbooks. Each lesson includes both drills and fresh reading material. Students learn strategies for breaking down difficult passages. Progress is steady and encouraging. With practice, learners can play new music fluently. My goal is to create independent, confident readers.
