About Haley

I am a violin tutor with over 8 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music Education (Strings – Violin). My passion lies in helping students grow both technically and artistically. I have successfully directed string ensembles, group violin classes, and youth orchestras, fostering a love for collaborative music-making. I excel in section leading, teaching ensemble dynamics, and ensuring precise group tuning. I emphasize teamwork, helping students develop strong musicianship while learning to listen and respond to one another. My experience spans schools, community centers, and chamber groups, where I guide students of all ages and abilities. I focus on creating a supportive environment where every player feels valued and inspired. Ensemble playing is not just about individual skill—it’s about blending, communicating, and growing together. Seeing students achieve collective harmony and express music as a team brings me immense joy. My ultimate goal is to instill confidence, discipline, and a lifelong appreciation for the beauty of group music-making.

About the lesson

My teaching approach focuses on nurturing both skill and passion for the violin. I guide students from beginners to advanced levels, helping them build strong fundamentals in technique, posture, and finger placement. I emphasize ear training, so students can recognize pitches, harmonies, and nuances in music confidently. Performance skills are a key part of my lessons, encouraging students to play in front of others to build stage confidence.

I integrate exercises for emotional expression, helping students convey feelings through music. Sight-reading, improvisation, and musical interpretation are also included to broaden their musical understanding.
