About Adam
I’m a dedicated chess tutor with over 3 years of experience helping students improve their understanding and confidence on the board. My background includes structured training in cognitive skill development and decision-making analysis. I teach students how to manage real-time situations in games—whether it’s defending under pressure or launching a strategic attack. My specialty lies in role-playing common game scenarios and providing play-by-play support. We walk through situations like defending a weak pawn or converting a lead in the endgame. I use guided play, puzzles, and post-game analysis to make lessons engaging and practical. Each student gets personalized attention and customized feedback. I love helping learners of all ages—from total beginners to aspiring tournament players. My students learn not only what move to make, but why to make it. Lessons often include focused vocabulary like zugzwang, tempo, and prophylaxis—explained clearly and used in context. My teaching adapts to your speed and goals.

In my chess teaching, I focus on developing clear thinking, confidence, and structured play. Whether you're just starting or already competing, I build lessons around your level and goals. We begin by strengthening fundamental knowledge—how pieces move, opening ideas, and basic tactics like pins and forks.
As you progress, I introduce strategic concepts such as pawn structures, outposts, and planning. My methodology includes reviewing classic games, solving themed puzzles, and playing slow games to build discipline. I encourage students to ask questions and think critically about each move. Mistakes become opportunities to learn—not setbacks.
Each session is personalized, combining instruction with live play and analysis. I also include practical tips for time management and decision-making under pressure. For advanced students, we focus on deep calculation and preparation. You’ll learn how to approach complex positions with clarity and control.
