About Aimee
Teaching flute to adult beginners is one of the most rewarding parts of my life. I often work with students who’ve spent years raising families, building careers, or tending to others—and now, they’re finally carving out time for themselves. My teaching is structured yet flexible, with a strong emphasis on tone quality, comfortable hand positioning, and natural rhythm development. I offer lessons that blend traditional skill-building with modern, supportive tools like slow-tempo tracks, annotated sheet music, and personalized practice guides. I especially enjoy helping students who may have felt left behind in past musical experiences. Here, there’s no judgment—just encouragement and curiosity. Many students find that the flute brings calm, joy, and even emotional healing. Whether your dream is to play along with your favorite songs or simply to unwind after a busy day, we’ll work together to make your musical goals not only possible, but joyful.

I also explore the spiritual dimensions of music. We discuss the role of music in different cultures and traditions, examining its use in rituals, ceremonies, and spiritual practices. I encourage students to connect with the transcendent qualities of music, exploring its ability to evoke a sense of awe, wonder, and connection to something larger than themselves. For students who are interested in improvisation, I provide a supportive and open-ended environment for exploration. We experiment with different scales, modes, and rhythms, allowing students to discover their own unique musical voice. I encourage students to listen to their intuition and to trust their creative impulses, using improvisation as a means of self-expression and spiritual exploration. I also integrate elements of music therapy into my teaching. We use music as a tool for relaxation, stress reduction, and emotional healing. I guide students in creating their own therapeutic soundscapes, using the flute to express and process their emotions. I believe that music can be a powerful tool for self-care, promoting a sense of well-being and enhancing overall quality of life. My goal is to empower students to develop a deep and holistic relationship with music, recognizing its transformative potential on all levels of their being. I strive to create a learning environment where students feel safe, supported, and inspired to explore their musicality, their emotions, and their spirituality, using the flute as a pathway to greater wholeness and well-being.
