My teaching method is simple: teach for the student. As important as it is to me that my students advance musically, it's just as important that they enjoy learning and have a positive association with music. Everyone learns differently, so this will vary person to person.
My approach in the past was subjects on popular music, movies, or cultural events, solo singing, group singing. In this case, I would play clarinet, and get student to repeat notes and tone. Repetition, is the best method to adopt, new playing style.
I'm focused on breathing techniques and body use to make sure students maximize their music making without straining themselves. I always cater to the interest of the student in what they want to achieve.
a passion for music will go a long way in learning how to sing, play clarinet, or even just learning to read theory and notes.
