About Dora
Ever since I first became interested in math, my goals have been not just to become a mathematician, but also to spread my knowledge of math and give other students access to quality math education. Even outside of professional endeavors, since high school I've been committed to these goals, from starting a math magazine at my school, to volunteering at a program where I taught middle schoolers math, to volunteering at the Museum of Math and explaining the math behind exhibits to visitors. I'll bring as much enthusiasm, energy, passion for math, and hard work to tutoring through superprof as I have already in all of these projects.
I am partly tutoring to raise money for charity, and half of the payments I receive will be donated for good causes.

My name is Dora, and as an aspiring mathematician, I am most interested in teaching students fun, interesting, enriching areas of math that would not typically be seen in high school/middle school courses. As an example, I would love to work through a number theory book, introduce students to formal proofs in mathematics, and give students a taste of what mathematicians are working on today/famous open problems, and how number theory relates to fields like cryptography. My depth of knowledge in many advanced topics, experience teaching and tutoring both advanced and beginning topics, and research experience will help me design fascinating lesson plans which will make students fall in love with math and enhance problem solving abilities! I do also have experience tutoring students in more routine topics, such as SAT math, beginning contest math, and high school calculus/precalculus as well, and would work hard to make such lessons interesting and enjoyable.
