About Connie

Hi! I am a Math & Science teacher with 15 years of teaching experience. I enjoy working with middle-school students, teaching students new ideas, ways of thinking and having fun!
I have a passion for math and science education, inspiring children to "think outside the box", be creative, curious about the world around them and wrap their minds around new ideas and ways of thinking!
I specialize in gifted education, meeting the needs of various children in my classroom with different learning styles, the pacing of content and learning disabilities. My main goal is to ensure every student in my classroom and who I tutor is successful.
I also have 2 beautiful children of my own, aged 11 and 14 who I like to spend my time with.

About the lesson

Does your child need help studying for their Provincial Assessment Tests (PAT's) or final exams?
Or does your child need to learn study techniques or help with test anxiety? I can help! I specialize in math & science education with over 15 years of teaching experience. I have also taught multiple subjects and grades from 6-9.
I will provide fun, engaging & hands-on teaching approaches and will adapt lessons to meet each student's learning style and needs.
A typical 1-hour lesson may include:
- review of basic foundation skills (e.g. multiplication or terminology)
- practicing skills where the student needs the most help through the use of games, analogies and manipulative materials to help students understand the material through their strongest learning style (e.g. visual aids, hands-on, music/songs, etc.)
- check-in assessment to ensure the student understands new information & follow-up recommendations until our next session
I am available to tutor students in grades 5-9 that need help in Math or science
