About Daphne

In my lessons, we venture into the microscopic world that often goes unnoticed but shapes our lives in countless ways. With a gentle and reflective approach, I guide students through the fascinating field of microbiology. We focus on bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms that influence our health and environment. You’ll learn how diseases are transmitted and how public health biology works to protect communities. We explore how these tiny organisms can both harm and help us, from causing illness to supporting ecosystems. Together, we uncover how pathogens interact with our immune system and how our bodies defend against them. I take care to explain complex ideas in simple, clear terms so you can truly understand and appreciate them. Whether you’re curious about how viruses spread or how bacteria adapt, I’m here to help you find your own way of understanding these hidden forces. My goal is to foster a deeper awareness of the unseen world and its impact on life. I support each student in discovering their unique perspective and excelling at understanding pathogens and immunity.

About the lesson

I am a Biology tutor with over 10 years of experience and a BSc in Cell and Molecular Biology. My academic and research background is rooted in molecular immunology and antibody engineering. I have a deep passion for exploring antibody structure and understanding how these molecules recognize and neutralize pathogens. My expertise also covers immune cell signaling pathways that drive protective and pathological immune responses.

I have worked extensively on vaccine development strategies, combining theory and practical insights into how vaccines elicit robust immunity. My experience in therapeutic antibody design allows me to guide students through the fascinating process of creating targeted biological therapies. I enjoy breaking down complex topics like B-cell and T-cell interactions, cytokine networks, and monoclonal antibody production into clear, understandable concepts.

Over the years, I’ve mentored students interested in biomedical research, pharmacology, and drug development, helping them align their studies with their career goals. Whether it’s preparing for exams, tackling assignments, or conceptualizing research projects, I tailor my teaching to each student’s needs. I encourage curiosity, critical thinking, and a hands-on approach to learning.
