About Christopher
I have extensive experience creating lesson plans, individualized education plans, and instruction in various subjects, including social studies. For the past four years, I have been teaching at Parkdale High School in Prince George’s County, Maryland, where I have built strong relationships with my students, administration and school community. I have taught Honors World History, Honors/pre-IB Government, African American, and US History. I also have four years of experience teaching special education classes focused on autism and have worked one-on-one and in class settings with students with unique learning needs including attention deficit disorder and physical differences.
Outside the classroom, I am the coach of the varsity softball team (Go Panthers!).

My teaching philosophy focuses on listening, reacting thoughtfully, and meeting my students where they are. Through my studies and work in different settings, I have learned how crucial it is to always be sympathetic to the diverse viewpoints and personal backgrounds of my students. Learning never happens in a vacuum, and I work diligently to ensure that my lessons and teaching style are responsive to my students’ personal experiences and feelings, both of which I believe are vital to the learning process.
