About Eleanor

My piano teaching philosophy centers on the belief that music education should be both rigorous and deeply personal. For advanced students, I focus on nuanced interpretation, advanced repertoire, and performance preparation, including stage presence and mental resilience. A particularly rewarding experience was supporting a student with performance anxiety by introducing mindfulness techniques alongside rigorous practice, resulting in a breakthrough recital. I provide detailed feedback, customized practice plans, and flexible scheduling to accommodate busy lifestyles. Ultimately, my goal is to help students develop a lifelong relationship with the piano that balances technical skill, artistic expression, and personal fulfillment.

I believe creativity is vital, so I incorporate improvisation and composition exercises that empower students to explore their individual musical ideas.

Consistent practice habits and effective goal-setting are essential topics we address regularly, helping students maintain motivation and develop confidence. I utilize technology such as recording devices, metronome apps, and digital sheet music to enhance learning and self-assessment. A memorable teaching moment was witnessing a young student overcome initial nervousness to perform a complex piece flawlessly at a recital, showcasing both technical mastery and emotional depth.
