About Guy
As a skilled and versatile musician with over two decades of experience across a wide range of genres, from rock and pop to jazz and classical, I bring a meticulous, thoughtful approach to everything I do, placing my student's vision at the forefront. Originally from Australia, I moved to the UK at 15 and began performing professionally, working in various bands, including LibraLibra, which toured the UK and received airplay on BBC Introducing, BBC Radio 6, and BBC Radio 1. In recent years, my focus has shifted to composing, including creating the original score for David Shrigley’s Pulped Fiction in 2022. My passion for music extends to over a decade of studying diverse musical traditions, which informs my work as both a composer and educator. As the creator of “The Musical Theory of Relativity,” I have developed a unique approach to teaching music theory that blends traditional concepts with cultural, philosophical, and scientific perspectives. This inclusive method makes learning music more accessible and inspiring for students at all levels. In addition to my teaching work, I serve as the in-house engineer at Brighton’s Folklore Rooms, a celebrated music venue known for its intimate setting. As an educator, my experience as both a performer and producer enables me to foster creativity in the classroom, helping students not only understand the mechanics of music but also express their unique artistry.
