About Megan
Hello, I am a college student with a passion for teaching. I have experience tutoring college English classes professionally, teaching children, and teaching people with learning disabilities.
During my time tutoring students at Delta College I have received training on how to tend to each individual student's needs. I have a great grasp on writing college level essays and reports. I was also trained to teach ESL college students.
I am very thankful for my mentors I've had over the years as a Girl Scout Program Aide. I have taught countless classes on photography and environmental science. My many years of teaching these classes have given me the experience necessary to be an encouraging tutor.
I have a unique perspective on children and young adults with learning disabilities. Every student has their own set of unique needs and I'm willing to go above and beyond to meet those needs. I have been teaching children and young adults with learning disabilities for years.

My main priority is to make sure my students succeed. To do this I make sure I understand the student's individual needs and use them to help the student understand the material. I believe that students learn best when their experience is as personalized as possible.
When I first meet a student I like to get to know the student and allow the student to get to know me. This helps develop trust and comfort in the relationship. I also like to talk with the student about what has been challenging them recently in their English classes. I like to know what the student needs work on. The sessions after that will be about working on a student's challenging points and making sure they understand them so they can thrive in their classes and build upon the knowledge they've gained.
