About Lauren

I am a classical guitarist with a MM from the Royal Conservatory of Brussels (Antigoni Goni) and BMp from the Stetson University School of Music (Stephen Robinson). I have been playing classical guitar for 17 years and teaching private lessons for 7 years. I have taught students from ages 5 to 80 years. I have studied with and performed in masterclasses for top classical guitarists: Dr. Stephen Robinson, Antigoni Goni, Julian Gray, David Russell, Jason Vieaux, Irina Kulikova, Judicael Perroy, Berta Rojas, Laura Snowden, Rene Izquierdo, Amadeus Duo, and the Kithara Duo.

About the lesson

I approach my students as developing musicians. My teaching method is catered to the individual needs of each student while using some core method books such as Everybody's Classical Guitar, Pumping Nylon, and etudes by Brouwer, Carcassi and Sor. I share what I have learned on my guitar/music journey so my students may also develop skill on the guitar and music in general.

I also include instruction on nail care for achieving great tone on the classical guitar.

Perfect! I really love how Lauren asked questions and had me play a bit first to see where I’m at, and to see what my goals are first. And I feel that tailoring the lessons to me and my goals is so practical. It was such a good first lesson and I’m looking forward to continuing my lessons.
