About Melinda E
I have graduated with a BA in music performance at Middlesex back in 2010. During my university years I started teaching and became really passionate about it. I have taught many children and some adults, currently preparing them for grade 1-8 Vln. I was working in the last decade for a company called Strings Club, which is a group teaching club, I have learnt lots of games there and a different approach to children. However, I believe that one-to-one teaching is a bigger progress for a child because the attention is only on one person. My main instrument is viola which I usually play in the Fulham Symphony Orchestra on it. In the last decade, I have recorded various pop artists' tracks which is a different style of music rather than classical. I have been a few years ago in BGT with the Collaborative Orchestra and we got to the semi-finals.

I have been taught with the Kodály method which is a Hungarian based technique based on singing solfa. It is important that we train our ears for intonation purposes. When we play on a stringed instrument, that skill becomes vital to be able to hear where we put our fingers down. I also do a lot of bowing exercises to develop the right hand which is very important for articulation. Another technique I use is a rhythm game to clap different rhythms which gets faster with time and everyone loves it.
