About Kylah

I'm a Freelance Animator and Illustrator based in Toronto. In college, I advised junior students and found a passion for helping others develop their skills. I have experience designing and running Arts and Crafts Programming for Children's Day Camps, which has helped me to identify and address individual learners' needs. Beginning in May 2020, I started tutoring art and drawing online. I have found success in mentoring students of all ages. I've helped students to design characters and backgrounds, explore gesture and anatomy studies, and to discover a clearer picture of the work they would like to pursue. About the lesson

My teaching methods rely on challenging my students to step out of their comfort zones, try new techniques and subjects. I expect students to bring an open mind and be ready to experiment, but I'm flexible in how we approach our lessons.

I develop a unique program for each student, considering the student's strengths and weaknesses and what I can do to help them improve. I'll also take into account what the student's personal goals and interests are, and guide them in developing the specific skills that will aid them in achieving those goals.

My artistic background is based in traditional art, cartooning, and animation. My work is highly character and story-related and I bring those sensibilities into my teaching. I'll provide the instruction for art fundamentals, drawing exercises, helpful resources, challenges that promote creative thinking, and an individual experience tailored to the student's interests.
