About Violet

I have been teaching piano for over 10 years and hold a degree in music performance, with a focus on classical and contemporary music. My approach to teaching emphasizes patience, flexibility, and a deep understanding of music theory. I believe that every student can benefit from learning piano, and I customize my lessons to suit their interests and goals. For beginners, I focus on the basics—proper hand positioning, basic note reading, and simple rhythm exercises. As students advance, I introduce more complex pieces and techniques, such as playing with expression, developing sight-reading skills, and exploring different musical genres. I incorporate a variety of musical styles into my lessons, from classical to jazz, pop, and contemporary, so that students have the opportunity to explore different genres and expand their musical knowledge. In addition to building technical skills, I emphasize the importance of ear training, helping students to listen closely to music, identify harmonies and melodies, and develop their musical intuition. I also focus on improvisation and composition, encouraging students to express their creativity and develop their own musical ideas. I offer performance opportunities for students to showcase their skills and build their confidence, while also providing constructive feedback to help them improve. Ultimately, my goal is to inspire a lifelong love of music and help each student reach their full potential, whether they are learning for fun or pursuing a professional music career.

About the lesson

With a background in both music education and performance, and more than 10 years of teaching experience, I offer tailored piano lessons that are both effective and enjoyable. I focus on making each lesson fun, informative, and challenging, while maintaining an approach that is responsive to each student's pace. My beginners' lessons cover essential skills such as hand positioning, basic scales, and simple pieces to lay a strong foundation. For intermediate and advanced students, I incorporate more complex repertoire, sight-reading exercises, and improvisation to enhance both technical and creative abilities. I believe in teaching students to listen actively to their own playing and to develop their musical ear, which is why I include ear training and rhythm exercises in each lesson. I expose students to a wide range of musical genres, from classical to jazz and contemporary pop, so they develop both versatility and personal style. I also believe in the importance of performance opportunities, so I regularly organize recitals for students to share their progress and gain valuable experience performing in front of an audience.
