About Jay
I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University with a degree in Engineering Physics, ranking near the top of my class. I went on to earn my M.S. and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, followed by postdoctoral research at one of MIT’s top engineering labs. My academic journey has given me a deep, systematic approach to solving math and physics problems—an approach I'm always eager to share with my students. I'm a full-time professional at a high-profile electronics company, where I apply advanced concepts in science and engineering every day. Outside of work, I have a genuine passion for teaching math and physics, which I’ve pursued as a rewarding hobby for the past five years. During that time, I've had the pleasure of tutoring students from middle school to college, helping them build confidence and mastery in subjects ranging from algebra to mechanics and electromagnetism. I strive to make complex topics clear and engaging, tailoring my approach to each student's needs and learning style.

I offer focused, results-driven lessons in physics and math, designed to help students build real understanding and confidently tackle exams like the AP, SAT, GRE, and more. With a background that combines a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and top honors from Cornell’s physics program, I structure each session to clarify key concepts, sharpen problem-solving skills, and build test-taking strategies that actually work. Whether we're breaking down difficult mechanics problems or reviewing tricky calculus questions, my goal is to make each lesson clear, practical, and tailored to the student’s learning style. I love physics—and I’ve found that teaching it in a way that clicks with students is even more rewarding.
