About Sabine

Hi, I’m a passionate singing tutor with over 10 years of experience and a Bachelor of Music in Musical Theatre Voice. I specialise in guiding students of all levels—from school-aged beginners to adult professionals—through engaging, personalised vocal lessons. Whether you're exploring classical pieces, pop hits, movie songs, or folk tunes, I tailor each session to suit your unique style and goals. I believe every voice has its own beauty, and my job is to help you uncover and strengthen yours. With a strong foundation in ear training, harmony, improvisation, and music theory, I make lessons both creative and educational. We’ll work together to build vocal confidence while ensuring technique stays safe and healthy. My approach is interactive and supportive, always encouraging open expression and growth. About the lesson

For The Soloist in Training and The Church Ensemble Player, vocal wellness begins with mindfulness and a respect for the body as an instrument. Start each session with gentle breathwork—inhale through the nose, exhale slowly through pursed lips—to calm the nervous system and centre the mind. Use warm-ups like lip trills, gentle sirens, and five-note scales to ease the voice into action without strain. Hydration is essential. Sip room-temperature water throughout the day, not just before singing. Avoid caffeine and sugary drinks that dry the throat. Vocal placement should always feel free and balanced—think of the voice sitting in the mask (around the cheeks and eyes), not pushed from the throat. The Soloist in Training can set small, joyful milestones, like singing one favourite song mindfully per week. The Church Ensemble Player should focus on blending well with others while keeping their individual tone supported and vibrant. Balance vocal goals with calm by scheduling brief voice check-ins using an app like VoxTools or SingSharp. For mindfulness, try Insight Timer or Headspace for short pre-practice meditations. Breathwrk and Othership are great for guided breathing routines to reset the body and voice. Celebrate progress. Let joy—not pressure—be your guide.
