About Michael
I have a passion for tutoring and teaching others. In July 2019, I obtained a Master’s in Chemistry (with a focus in Organic Chemistry) from UC-Irvine, where I achieved an A-grade in all my chemistry classes. In college, I obtained a 3.99 Chemistry GPA. Through teaching undergraduate courses and tutoring students throughout college and graduate school, I learned a variety of methods to efficiently teach chemistry concepts in an interesting way. Also, because of my strong foundation, I am comfortable tutoring in a wide spectrum of chemistry courses, from basic to advanced levels.

When I sit down to help a student, I generally focus on conveying fundamental concepts first before diving into the specifics of a particular question or problem-set. I have found this to be a useful way to help students better understand the material. Teaching chemistry in this way in turn allows students to approach similar questions (that appear in tests and quizzes) with greater confidence by applying what they have learned from our sessions to achieve higher grades. I will help you through the hard problems until you get the hang of it.
