About Nancy

My education includes a Bachelors degree in Mathematics, MBA in Finance, design and construction classes..
Along with pursuing several careers, I have tutored and taught peers and students in mathematics for decades. Mostly on the job or after school projects where they returned to me beaming in following days with completed assignments, higher grades and happier parents and clients. care. com has many of my reviews. About the lesson

I have applied math to many practical applications in my careers after studying mathematics, sciences, finance and building and design.
Since I was a child Mathematics has been a favorite subject! Today I tutor every area and level including AP and Honors through freshman college. Some students find it difficult to grasp the abstract concepts in these subjects, however just going to the grocery store gives us tons of examples of applications of arithmetic and basic math that help demystify them. I like show relevant every day examples which help the student understand it’s not just about abstract numbers, but real things that they can see and work with or hold. ..
Especially these days after a year of remote learning, many students lack the necessary understanding of the foundation of the math concepts they need to move forward to the next steps. When I work with my students, if they hesitate with a problem, I push back their book and pull out a clean pad and begin asking questions to determine if there are any holes in that foundation.
Usually there are..and we rebuild from there. Once those lessons are covered, it’s a breeze from there.. or until another crack is found in that foundation.
