About Carly

I am a committed piano tutor with a Bachelor’s degree in Music and over seven years of teaching experience. My passion for the piano began early and developed through years of formal training, performance, and continued study. Teaching allows me to share the joy and discipline of music while helping students unlock their potential, one note at a time. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students of all ages—from young children to adults—each with different goals, learning styles, and musical tastes. Whether a student is learning to play their first piece or preparing for an advanced recital or exam, I adapt my teaching to meet their needs. My approach combines clear technical instruction with encouragement and creativity. In addition to teaching, I remain active as a performer and learner. This keeps me connected to the music world and continually inspires fresh ideas for lessons. I draw from a wide variety of genres and techniques, so students can explore music in a way that feels personal and engaging. I believe learning piano should be both structured and expressive, with space for discovery. As a tutor, I’m dedicated to building not just technical skills, but musical confidence and a lasting appreciation for the piano. My piano lessons are thoughtfully tailored to suit learners of all ages and skill levels, whether you're starting fresh or returning to the keys after a break. Each lesson is planned with your goals in mind—whether you're learning for personal enjoyment, school, exams, or performance. I strive to create a calm, focused environment where students can grow at a steady and comfortable pace.

Fundamentals such as hand positioning, note reading, and rhythm are emphasized from the beginning. As students advance, lessons include dynamics, articulation, pedaling techniques, and phrasing. Music theory and sight-reading are integrated naturally into each session to build well-rounded musicianship and deepen musical understanding.

Repertoire is selected to match your level and interests—ranging from classical to contemporary styles—to keep lessons engaging and relevant. I also offer guidance in improvisation, duet playing, and performance preparation, depending on your interests. My approach combines discipline with creativity, making sure students feel both challenged and inspired.

With seven years of teaching experience and a Bachelor’s degree in Music, I bring a balance of academic knowledge and real-world insight to each lesson. I focus not only on building strong technique but also on nurturing a lifelong appreciation for music. Every student’s journey is unique, and I aim to support that journey with patience, structure, and enthusiasm.
