About Alexis

As a passionate composer, sound engineer, and storyteller from Chicagoland, I bring a dynamic and heartfelt approach to music education. With over 20 years of piano study and professional experience spanning projects for Disney, Netflix, DreamWorks, Warner Bros., and HBO Max, I’ve honed my ability to craft emotive, impactful music across film, TV, theater, games, and live events. My contributions have been recognized by PBS and honored at prestigious festivals, including the Big Apple, Chicago International Children’s, and Prague International Film Festivals.

Academically, I hold a Master of Fine Arts in Music Composition for the Screen from Columbia College Chicago, where I earned the Dwight W. Follett Continuing Graduate Student Fellowship and the Diversity and Inclusion Award. I also have dual bachelor's degrees in Audio Production and Music from Webster University, where I was a member of the New Music Ensemble and Women’s Chorus, and the recipient of multiple scholarships recognizing excellence in performance and production.

Fueled by a lifelong love of storytelling and sound, nurtured by a childhood immersed in books, theater, and games, I’m deeply committed to inspiring students to discover their unique voice in music. My lessons are tailored to foster creativity, build confidence, and equip students with practical skills for success in composition, music theory, and production. Whether you’re a beginner or an advanced musician, I aim to provide a supportive and engaging environment that encourages exploration, growth, and artistic discovery.
