About Katherine
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Music and have taught piano for over nine years. My formal training equipped me with technical expertise and a wide understanding of repertoire, which I now share with students in ways that are both structured and engaging. During my years of teaching, I have worked with children, teenagers, and adults at different skill levels. This experience has helped me create flexible methods that adapt to each learner’s style, ensuring lessons remain effective, enjoyable, and relevant to individual goals. What motivates me as a teacher is the belief that piano study develops more than musical skill. It builds discipline, creativity, and self-expression. My mission is to help students grow not only as pianists but also as confident individuals through the joy of music.

My piano lessons begin with building a strong technical foundation. Students learn proper hand positioning, scales, and posture that ensure fluid movement across the keys. By mastering these essential techniques early, they gain the confidence to approach more advanced repertoire with precision and control.
Beyond technique, I emphasize sight-reading and theory. Students develop the ability to quickly interpret sheet music, recognize patterns, and connect theoretical knowledge with practical application. This approach not only helps them play music accurately but also strengthens their ability to explore new works independently.
Performance skills are another key aspect of my lessons. Learners practice memorization, dynamic control, and stage confidence to prepare for exams, recitals, or personal enjoyment. My goal is for every student to leave lessons feeling capable of expressing music with both clarity and passion.
