About Michael

Hello! I'm Michael, a fulltime storyboard artist, animator, and illustrator. I've been working in the field for four years on commercials, music videos, TV and film, and I'd like to share the things I've learned with you here!

I studied fine art in college with a focus on animation, and did freelance illustration and animation for several years before joining Ampersand as a freelance storyboard artist. My work has been pre-production for music videos by the Foo Fighters, the Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar and Wale, as well as for shows like the recent adaptation of Let the Right One In on Showtime.

About the lesson

Whether you see yourself getting into an art career in the future or just want to get into the hobby to start, I can help you learn fundamentals, find your artistic voice and create your own visual stories.

I start with understanding your art goals, and give lessons and exercises built towards that specific track. I like to focus on teaching students how to learn art, so that they can find their own specific style and voice.

Excellent! They, for me at least, diagnosed what I was looking for and allowed me to sketch to see where I fall short in. From there he taught me a better way to visualize the initial process in my drawing.
