About Kuba

I am an undergraduate student with a strong passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). I love to share my skills, explain key concepts and see the development of students in school academics and beyond. I find teaching a thrilling experience, especially because I believe I can help students make links between so many different concepts and so build a very strong understanding of subjects. In my A-level studies I achieved an A* in Mathematics, an A* in Further Mathematics, an A* in Spanish and an A in Physics. I have achieved six grade 9s (equivalent to A**) in GCSE Maths, Physics, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science and Spanish, along with three grade 8s (equivalent to A*) in GCSE English Language, English Literature, and History. The main key to all of my lessons is making them interactive and fun, and engaging you in the learning to have a real and full understanding of all topics, including the very trickiest ones. Each tutor session is flexible in style and duration and can be adapted to your learning needs. Through my tutoring you will have access to unique and exclusive learning resources made by myself, which first build the underlying knowledge you need to succeed in your subject. These resources will focus on remembering and retrieving facts to nail the fundamentals. Once this key understanding has been grasped, a more in-depth approach can be explored, to push you to work on hard exam questions and ensure a clear understanding of what the examiner wants is reached. At this stage, you will have a lot of practice and exposure to a wide range of questions so you feel confident in exams. Further beyond this, my lessons can focus on revision, or exploring a “why” approach to see why things happen, and how they link to each other. You will develop skills not only to learn the facts, but skills to become a true mathematician / physicist which you can carry over and apply to all situations. I have also taught a GCSE Spanish lesson myself, and led a STEM group where I engaged younger students in academic writing and programming, advanced mathematics and experimentation. Through these experiences, I have been able to develop teaching skills, engage with students and gain an understanding of the best way to help them. I am currently reading Physics at the University of Manchester, an institution with a very strong Physics and Astronomy department, and am thoroughly enjoying studies there.
