  • 1) When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

I've been singing for as long as I can remember, and I started singing professionally at the age of 9. Music has always been a big part of my life, and I've always enjoyed creating it. My passion for music comes from the environment I grew up in, which inspired and nurtured my love for it. Now, I've turned that passion into a profession, and I couldn't be happier.
  • 2) Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

I love all types of music, and my Spotify playlist is incredibly diverse! My taste and favourite genres vary from day to day-I enjoy house, gospel, R&B, soul, rock, country, hip-hop, dancehall, reggae, and so much more. Each genre brings out a different emotion or feeling in me, which is why I never get tired of exploring them all. Music is such a powerful way to connect with different moods and experiences.
  • 3) Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

The most difficult yet rewarding course I could personally give to a music student is helping them prepare for their singing grades. These exams are rigorous and require mastering a combination of technical precision, vocal control, and emotional expression. It's challenging for both the student and teacher, but seeing a student progress and succeed is incredibly gratifying. The journey builds discipline, resilience, and a deep connection to music."
  • 4) What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

I think string instruments, such as the violin, viola, cello, and double bass, are some of the most complicated to master. They require a high level of precision and control, not only with finger placement on the strings but also with the bowing technique. Producing a clear, consistent tone takes years of practice, as does mastering intonation, since there are no frets to guide you. Additionally, the physical coordination and emotional expression involved in playing these instruments make them both challenging and deeply rewarding!
  • 5) What are your keys to success?

My keys to success are rooted in a mindset of perseverance and self-belief. I always strive for greatness and never give up, no matter the challenges I face. I practice constant positive affirmations to stay motivated and grounded. I believe in pushing myself out of my comfort zone and putting myself out there to grow and seize opportunities. Above all, I live by the mantra: 'What is meant for you will always find you.' This philosophy keeps me focused and open to the possibilities life has to offer.
  • 6) Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

This is such a tough question, but if I had to choose, I'd say Allen Stone, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Beyoncé. Allen Stone's music and voice are absolutely incredible, and I feel like chatting with him about his creative process would be so inspiring. Lin-Manuel Miranda is a genius, and I'd love to pick his brain about his creative ideas and how he brings them to life. And Beyoncé-well, who wouldn't want to bump into Beyoncé? She's an icon, and just being in her presence would be unforgettable!
  • 7) Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

One valuable lesson I've learned in my musical journey especially during my time at university is to never let people put you in a box. Early on, I was told to stick to one genre or style to 'find my identity' or think about "employability" as a musician. But I've always loved exploring different genres-R&B, soul, gospel, reggae, and more-and I realised that embracing versatility makes me unique. Music is about expression and growth, and limiting yourself to one path can stifle creativity. That experience taught me to stay true to my passions and trust that my individuality will shine through
  • 8) What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

I focus on creating a supportive and inspiring environment tailored to each individual's needs. My years of professional experience as a singer since the age of 9 allow me to share not only technical skills but also insights into performing and connecting emotionally with music. I strive to make every lesson engaging, relatable, and fun, combining a deep passion for music with a personalized approach that helps my students grow and thrive.
