Lesley Andrew - Philosophy of pedagogy Teaching is my passion. I feel it is my responsibility as a pedagogue to impart the knowledge, skills and information needed for students to pursue and accomplish goals, while leading each student to feel comfortable, safe and confident in the learning setting.
I am very detail-oriented, patient and flexible. I base my classes on four core principles that I believe are necessary for a positive learning environment: 1. Making sure we're enjoying ourselves and growing at the same time. 2. Making sure we're both learning from each other, as a student and as a teacher. 3.
As a teacher, I like to find out the music goals of my student and design a plan to accommodate their wishes. In the case of school age children, I would discuss a suitable for them program with parents.
I teach speech level singing, making singing as natural and easy as speaking. I teach dynamic control, projection and more.
I work around the individual needs and requirements of a particular student. every lesson plan is hands-on, and tailored in a way to be most productive for the individual. I will create a syllabus for the student, and I always work at a pace/rate in which I feel the student can progress at a successful rate, in a safe and encouraging environment.
Each class would begin with a vocal warm-up followed by working through pieces and learning how to use the voice, as well as how to manipulate it to create certain sounds, and how to portray emotion and feeling through it, without always relying on the lyrics. I believe that music is storytelling, so it's important that we, as singers, learn to tell the story.
I adapt to different learning styles. In the past I have used an RCM syllabus, musical theatre books, and other resources depending on the student's goals. I try to focus as much as possible on the actual pieces, rather than technique; however, we do learn scales, warm ups, and technical exercises to help improve the quality of the performance.
My teaching methods combine what I learnt from Italian bel canto, Vienna vocal techniques, and New York Broadway singing skills. I teach with imagination, anatomy, and body moves and gestures depending on each student's need and what helps most to achieve the goal as well as successfully exploit the technique required at the moment.
I work with singers and writers of all ages. I build upon a student's existing strengths and encourage all the time. I work through each skill sequentially to build success and confidence. I guarantee an enjoyable and successful learning experience.
I strongly believe that there is no one size fits all approach to pedagogy and learning. Therefore, I constantly need to know my students backgrounds, ethnicity, cultures, religions and capabilities to provide quality and engaging learning experiences to engage and challenge all students.
I typically teach music as a whole. I instruct on rhythm, music theory and cover all the elements of music so my students can put this knowledge into their instrument. I focus on musical techniques for each instrument to improve each students skill set.
A creative, fun and challenging approach to coaching that is built around the individual. Élocution, pronunciation, interval exercises and multiple styles are explored with a spiritual slant - vocables and finding your voice through self-discovery and connection with God.
My teaching methods are highly detailed and personalized to each student's needs. Whether it is looking for repertoire to fill your audition book, or you are auditioning for a program I will give you in depth feedback and advice.
My teaching methods include informing students of the basics of Music theory, running through fundamental scales on the instrument of choice, as well as catering to the student's desires of what song to perform and provide feedback on. Proper set performing etiquette specifically on how to have amazing stage presence will also be coached.
My techniques involve giving an understanding to the student about different vocal breathing and methods of understanding the voice. In piano, the understanding of the instrument is very important and so I want to make sure that beginner students are interested and always have a challenge in order to progress.
My process and teaching strategy is to have the student(s) being able to be versatile and open to singing different types of music. The key is to not feel like music is a chore, rather, make it exciting and enjoyable.
Music is my passion and I enjoy teaching it . From beginner to advance level and to all age group. Music is food for the soul and it help relax you. Class is structured on individual learning ability and level .
I love to assist the student in growing in ways that help them the most. I believe that a good teacher can adapt their lessons and teaching methods to fit with the needs of each student. My classes are meant for people with no understanding of music skills up to students who want to pass their high school music class.
My methodologies are as unique and varied as the students I coach. Whether workbooks or imagery work best, I deeply believe that teaching is much more about connection with the student than the material itself. I aim to build trust and rapport, and through this, discover the most effective and efficient ways to build upon a student's strengths and preexisting mental frameworks.
Music teaching methods are : bring the student for the centre of the Project, understand their expectations and get to know them well in order to work with eficiency. I like to inspire them with my experience and with different cultures showing brazilian songbook and have them singing the songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim for exemple.
My teaching methods are flexible according to the needs of the student. As long as the student has an open mind and voice they'd love to work with, we are all set to go! I can teach half hour lessons or one hour lessons (or more if required) every week.
I love teaching children simple instruments such as rythm sticks bells castinets egg shakers to create foster a sense of rythm and beat. Most of all music should be fun for children. There are lots of great songs and music and movement.
My teaching methods are based on hands on learning. it's important for children especially to physically do something in order to learn. I am currently a choir coordinator and my lessons are usually in a group setting where I focus on bringing out the children's best abilities.
My teaching methods are based in the school of Bel Canto, created with the intention of every breath being capable of producing both beautiful melody and efficient diction. I focus predominantly on the breath and the structure of both the body (with emphasis on the chest, diaphragm and shoulders) and the mouth.
I try to structure my lessons based on the interests of my students. Building on those interested in order to build on the areas needing improvement and boosting performance confidence.
i basically teach through practicising in my sessions. with musicals notes and knowlegde to ehance one’s capability to sing .
By using my 3 years of vocal lesson experience and 2 years of vocal tutor experience, I will work with you to develop your range and pitch through a series of fun and challenging activities! I can't promise you'll be the next Whitney Houston but I can promise you'll learn a lot and have fun doing it!
Most importantly, I believe in giving lots of encouragement to students. I create a positive and safe learning environment and tailor lessons and repertoire to match the student’s goals. I am comfortable teaching in a variety of genres from classical to jazz to pop.
Your classes will be distinct to you. I can instantly identify what your unique issues are and will create a routine for you to do outside of the class. Your classes will include having a personalized warmup guide sent to you each week.
Each student is different so the first class is about setting goals and making sure we're on the same page about what you want out of our lessons. From there, I will develop a plan that incorporates warm ups, techniques and emotionality/performance skills.
To be sure of the quality of our tutors and teachers and their lessons, we collect the reviews of former students.
These reviews are authentic and guaranteed by Superprof.
