About Me Hi! I’m Cathy — a passionate and patient tutor with a strong background in math, physics, and computer science. I specialize in AP and SAT tutoring, and I’m dedicated to helping students build both confidence and competence in problem-solving. I’m currently completing my undergraduate degree at the University of Toronto in Engineering Science, and I’ll be starting graduate studies soon with a research focus on robotics, machine learning, computer vision, and control theory. My academic journey has equipped me with not only deep subject knowledge, but also an understanding of how to break down complex ideas and explain them clearly. Subjects I’m passionate about teaching: AP Calculus AB/BC AP Physics C: Mechanics AP Statistics SAT Math (both sections) Intro to Machine Learning, Linear Algebra, and Computer Vision (for advanced learners) Having scored 5s on my APs and perfect scores on SAT Math and Math Level 2, I know what it takes to master standardized exams — not just by memorizing formulas, but by understanding how the tests are structured and developing strategies to work faster and more accurately. That's why I focus on three key pillars: Conceptual Clarity I emphasize why formulas work, not just how to apply them. Understanding the logic behind a method makes students faster, more confident problem-solvers. Pattern Recognition & Strategy Standardized exams like the SAT and AP follow patterns.
