Danica and I worked together as facilitators/docents at an exhibit geared towards children and school groups held at the year-round building for the Toronto International Film Festival. The job involved leading school groups on tours and expounding the educational aspects of the artistic/technological installations. Danica was consistently able to find new ways to explore an installation, in a way that would thoroughly engage visitors young and old. She also always went the extra mile in her research about said exhibits, whether practically perfecting how to use an installation or offering further insight based on what she'd learned about the artist who created it.

Danica is friendly, thoughtful, and a creative thinker. I've seen her easily hold the attention of and engage large groups of children or teenagers in situations where they could easily become distracted -- I'm not sure exactly how! But it's probably got something to do with how observant and adaptable she is, how she can easily relate to someone one on one, while at the same able to stay true to herself and maintain confidence in her abilities, all qualities that lend her to a leadership/mentorship role.

Danica is punctual, responsible, and thorough in her work. She would offer to take on tasks that might challenge other facilitators (a tricky to use coding app for example or handling a difficult customer service situation) because she's not just a team player but also a fiercely hard worker. She is also an amazing artist, a great writer, and is open-minded and curious about learning in general. Couldn't wish for a better teacher!

I worked with Danica at TIFF and she is an engaging teacher that kids love. She is creative, energetic, and able to make lessons fun for people of any age. She also works well with in a team and is great at sharing her knowledge with her peers.

I've worked with Danica for a little under a year during my stay in Nagoya, Japan. She's not only bright, encouraging and motivating and helpful, but always goes above and beyond what she's asked for. I worked with Danica last year and was blown away. Her discipline and dedication to her craft was unprecedented. She would always show up early so she could prepare for her classes and take extra time out of her day to assist the school staff with organizing and decorating the school. But she didn't stop there, she was known to be super patient with her students and gave each and every one of them the attention they needed. Danica and I met through our UK employment agency, 'Engage Education', back in 2014. We were placed nearby at different schools - I taught as a secondary school art specialist and Danica took an offer at a primary school. We became fast friends and spent two years sharing our first experiences of being full-time employed teachers together, a well as adventured living abroad in a foreign country.
