About Eugene
I am an industrial design student and artist at Pratt Institute, pursuing my BFA degree nontraditionally. I am trained in many different mediums, art forms, and subjects, and my critique and feedback is valued by students and professors alike. I’ve been invited as a guest artist and designer for critiques at Pratt Institute’s School of Design and also have experience teaching pottery to high school students, the design method to college and graduate students, and assistant teaching art classes for young children. I applied and got accepted to several art schools in 2015, and my proximity to the application process and art school curriculum make me a great and affordable choice to help you or a student you know with their portfolio and application.

The methods I will use to help a student will depend on the student’s current abilities and experience level. I will always start with an evaluation of their current work, and discuss their goals for their work and their future. Based on this initial understanding and any classes the student is already taking, I will either provide assignments or work with their existing art curriculum and provide feedback, technical advice, support, and soft or hard deadlines (depending on what format works best for each individual student). The focus is on artistic growth, and opening up the student’s ability to act on opportunities they are excited about.
Recommendations
Recommendations come from relatives, friends and acquaintances of the tutor.
I met Eugene at Pratt Institute, where we shared most of our classes. He was a main go-to for crit on on-going projects, and he always had the insight to share with any classmate. His knowledge base is really broad and as a design major is especially skilled at picking out new solutions and identifying strengths. Eugene is usually the first person to see anything I'm working on. He is kind, honest, thorough, and articulate. You're guaranteed to get something useful out of a conversation with him.

If you are in a tight financial situation, please reach out about my sliding scale options. I firmly believe that the opportunity for artistic growth and exploration should be made accessible, and if my prices are legitimately out of you budget, I will work with you on a case by case basis.
