About Yvette
With over 5 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Music in Songwriting (Voice Primary), I specialise in blending vocal training with modern studio techniques. I introduce students to tools like DAWs, vocal processors, and studio microphones so they can feel comfortable both on stage and in recording environments. My lessons often include vocal looping, live electronic performance, and multi-layered vocal arrangements. I enjoy working across genres such as R&B, Soul, Acoustic Pop, and Contemporary Christian. Every session focuses on strengthening vocal technique while exploring artistry. I emphasise lyric interpretation, helping singers connect to the meaning of each song. Tone shaping, harmonies, and phrasing are central to my teaching. Whether you are a hobbyist or an aspiring recording artist, I tailor lessons to your personal goals. I provide clear, encouraging guidance to help students refine their craft. My teaching balances creativity with technical foundation. I love watching students discover new possibilities with their voices through technology. Singing is not just about sound—it’s about telling your story. I believe singing in a group requires more than just a good voice—it needs awareness, listening, and cooperation. My lessons focus on choral singing, sight-reading, vocal blending, and part-singing. Students learn how to follow a conductor while also being independent in their part. I teach techniques to adjust tone and timbre so voices blend into a unified sound. I’m very good with The Orchestra Member and The Crossover Artist, helping them move smoothly between solo and group contexts. My approach is structured but always supportive, allowing every student to feel confident in ensemble work. I use exercises that train both ear and voice to lock into harmonies. Rhythm drills and score-reading are also emphasised to handle complex choir pieces. Group lessons include practical practice with multi-part scores. Every singer learns the joy of contributing to a larger sound. My teaching creates harmony both musically and personally. In the end, you’ll not only sing better—you’ll also sing together better.
